SMM panel market notes, August 2026

The directory now tracks 106 panels. This month: the score formula moved to version 3, the open data API went live, and the probes started counting auth-gated APIs as operational. Here is what the data says.

Score formula v3

The score now weighs five measured inputs on the published methodology: domain longevity (30 points, log-scaled), catalog size (25 points, log-scaled), measured API latency (35 points), platform breadth (10 points) and owner verification (25 points), for a maximum of 125. The change fixed a real defect: a single missing catalog measurement had pushed a healthy panel far down the ranking, and log-scaling keeps a small catalog gap from dominating a panel that is otherwise fast and verified.

Current leaders after the change: Ezkify</strong>, <strong>Smmize</strong>, <strong>SocialPanel Pro — each with the score and its breakdown visible on its panel page.

What the probes found

The API probe now treats a key-gated endpoint (HTTP 401/403/429 with an API-shaped response) as operational: an API that rejects unauthenticated calls is demonstrably alive. That rule applies to every panel equally, and it moved several auth-gated providers from "endpoint mismatch" to "operational" overnight — including panels that were previously mislabeled by the old 2xx-only rule.

Probes are now cached-on-read for the live page and only re-run on schedule, which stops bursts against target APIs and keeps measurements stable.

Catalog and price moves

Wholesale pricing kept moving down on high-volume services. The gap between the cheapest and the mid-priced panel (Smmize) on per-1k rates remains roughly 10x for identical services, which is the normal spread in this market — the price comparator lists sample ranges to verify live.

Ezkify lists 8,700 services; Smmize lists 3,643. Catalog depth is a real signal: it means more backup suppliers for the services that matter.

Open data

The full dataset is now available keyless at the open data API (/api/v2/panels.json with score breakdowns and filters, flat shape at /api/v1/panels.json), and mirrored weekly to the public dataset repository. Any score on this site is recomputable from the breakdown — that is the point.

What to watch next month

  • Refill-window changes: several panels shortened their standard window; we flag these on panel pages when confirmed.
  • New panels entering the directory — additions are dated on the updates page.
  • Probe latency trends: the live page now records history per panel, so sustained slowdowns are visible over time.
